The Team on the day of the crossing will consist of -

 

Andrew Ward (Kite Surfer)

A kite Surfer of 3 years, Andrew is a 33 year who works at Poole NHS Trust Coordinating the day to day running of the main Operating Theatre Department. Andrew is usually found in Poole Harbour Kite Beach or on Sandbanks front beach on windy days when not at work. He has kite surfed at Perranporth, Watergate Bay, Studland, Hengistbury Head,Brankesome Chine,Boscombe and last year enjoyed 2 weeks on the tranquil Island of Coche benefitting from coaching by UK pro rider Christian Valentine who owns and operates a cabana right in front of the launch beach called Coche Kite Sports. Andrew was first taught to Kite Surf on a 2 day course by The Watersports Academy. Andrew has family connections who work for Special Boat Service Association (SBSA) charity which are the full beneficiary of all sponsorship/donations for this challenge

Special Operations & Powerboat (Director of JM Yachting) - Russell Kerslake
After a career of over 20 years in the Royal Marines specialising in amphibious operations and maritime counter terrorism Russell finished as Sergeant Major to the Special Forces Rib Troop.

On leaving the Marines Russell set up and managed the successful maritime based training and events company, International Rib Services. Russell, an RYA Yachtmaster, designed and delivered maritime training programmes to civilian and governmental agencies, in particular the Singapore Police Special Task Squadron, combining maritime skills with the leadership and teamworking skills, essential for operating in hostile environments.

Russell brings to life team development and leadership training programmes by drawing upon his experience from project managing many interesting and exciting events where he has led teams in demanding environments such as providing safety and security teams to major maritime events including the Trans Atlantic Windsurf Race 1998 and the Class 1 Powerboat Racing Circuit.

Dave Hartwell

Manager of The WaterSports Academy - Was be on board the support boat/s during the crossing and long distance endurance runs and assisted any situation such as kite change overs and Navigation and was in communication with the kite surfer via the Headzone system

 

Mark Enticknapp

Mark runs Extremevisuals which is a Professional Photographic Company specialising in Watersport and Corporate Photography.

He can usually be found at Sandbanks,Dorset at the WatersportsAcademy or in the water catching the action.

Mark is sponsored this challenge with his time spent capturing the training and crossing through his lens.

Tom has been following the progress of our challenge from the start and covered the actual crossing with the intention of creating a documentary to be broadcast on national television

Shawn is sponsored this challenge by being on board the support boat for the crossing to offer any medical/first Aid assistance which thankfully was not needed.
